چکیده

This study examines experimentally the performance of a horizontal triple concentric tube heat exchanger TCTHE made copper metal using water as cooling fluid and oil-40 hot fluid. Hot enters inner annular in direction at temperature 50, 60 70 oC flow rate 20 l/hr. On other hand, outer reverse (counter current flow) 25 rates 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 35 The is composed three tubes with diameters 34.925 mm, 22.25 9.525 thicknesses 1.27 1.143 0.762 respectively. tube's length was 670 mm. Nusselt number, overall transfer coefficient, convective coefficient (CHTC), friction factor pressure drop were measured from obtained experimental results plotted graphs against Reynold number volumetric water. These parameters appeared good process. numbers increased linearly DIW for both C1 C2 reaching maximum values 38.25 14.64 CHTC 2934.3 871.7 Overall reached 296.36 251.4 l/hr C2, Friction decreased increases, minimum 0.04 0.25 Pressure 81.4 4.31 turn leads to reduced size leading decrease construction cost exchanger.

Experimental investigation and performance analysis of triple concentric helical tube heat exchanger

An experimental investigation for helical triple concentric tube heat exchanger has been carried out with different flow arrangements i.e. N-H-C (normal fluid inside hot at middle cold in outer annulus) and C-H-N (cold fluid in inner pipe hot in middle normal fluid in outer annulus) with parallel and counter flow types. The temperature distribution of fluids w.r.t. length of the heat exchanger ...

Enhancement of Round Tube and Flat Tube-Louver Fin Heat Exchanger Performance Using Deluge Water Cooling

An experimental study has been conducted to evaluate the performance of a compact round-tube louver-fin condenser, each with frontal areas of 0.25 m in both dry and wet conditions. Deluge water cooling is achieved by incorporating a perforated bottom plate-type water distributor on top of the round tube heat exchanger. Water is used as a refrigerant, and enters the heat exchanger tubes at 35°C ...

Effect of baffle oientation on shell tube heat exchanger performance

In this paper, fluid flow and heat transfer in the laboratory (small size) shell tube heat exchanger are analysed by computational fluid dynamic software. In this type of shell tube heat exchanger baffles with different angles of rotation: 00 (horizontal segmental baffle), 150 (from horizontal), 300, 450, 600, 750, 900 (vertical segmental baffle) is used. Effect of baffle orientation on shell t...

A numerical investigation of γ-Al2O3-water nanofluids heat transfer and pressure drop in a shell and tube heat exchanger

The effect of γ-Al2O3 nanoparticles on heat transfer rate, baffle spacing and pressure drop in the shell side of small shell and tube heat exchangers was investigated numerically under turbulent regime. γ-Al2O3-water nanofluids and pure water were used in the shell side and the tube side of heat exchangers, respectively. Since the properties of γ-Al2O3-water nanofluids were variable, they were ...

Measurement of Local Convective Heat Transfer Coefficient of Alumina-Water Nanofluids in a Double Tube Heat Exchanger

Heat transfer coefficient and thermal efficiency of γ-Al2O3/water nanofluids flowing through a double tube heat exchanger were experimentally investigated. The nanoparticles were well dispersed in distilled water at 0.05–0.15 %vol. A large number of experiments were performed at different fluid flow rates under turbulent flow regime (18,000<Re<40,000) and various nanofluid...
